Better pictures of Sharpie

June 26, 2026

Updated June 27, 2026 to add the original color map image

Somebody found Sharpie online the other day and requested pictures of an image that shows all 64 colors at one time displayed on the LS021. I figured this was my excuse to pull out a nice camera, in this case a Nikon D300 DSLR with a 60-200mm (I think) zoom lens, and get some pictures. Click on any to see the original image.

These were all taken outdoors, under modest cloud cover. I tried to get interesting shots that show the display's viewing angles and the nature of its reflective top surface. The LS021 definitely benefits from even, widespread lighting like an overcast sky.

The color calibration on these images looks about right compared to reality, at least from a visual inspection. I would like to get actual colorimetry data for this display but I have no idea how or where I'd do that.
